Satya Nag Champa is among the best-selling incense scents anywhere, and has been for decades.
The sticks are hand-rolled in India from a blend of natural plant materials and essential oils rather than dipped in fragrance oil, which is the usual shortcut and the reason cheap incense smells sharp when it burns.
Each stick burns for around 45 minutes. The scent is earthy, floral and instantly recognisable — most people know it even if they have never known its name.
Several scents in the range beyond Nag Champa itself, including Dragons Blood, Frankincense and Jasmine Blossom. At £1.50 a pack it is the cheapest thing in the shop worth owning.
