Ceramic Bongs

Ceramic Bongs

Ceramic bongs are the oddball section. Heavy, decorative, and not for everyone. But if you want something that looks like a skull, a grim reaper or a cartoon character and doesn’t taste of plastic, ceramic is where you end up.

The Skull and Grim Reaper bongs are the most popular — 22cm and 25cm respectively, hand-glazed, genuinely solid construction. They’re not going to replace your daily glass piece, but as display items that occasionally get used, they’re well made. The ceramic tube head bongs and hand grip models are more conventional in shape — upright waterpipe form, ceramic body, standard joint fittings.

Ceramic doesn’t conduct heat the way glass does, so the body stays cooler to the touch. It also doesn’t have the same thermal shock resistance as borosilicate — pour very hot water into a cold ceramic piece and you’ll regret it. Use room temperature water. Every time.
