A bubbler is a hand pipe with a small water chamber built in. You get water filtration and the cooling that comes with it, without owning something the size of a bong.
Add a little water, load the bowl, and the smoke bubbles through before it reaches you. It is a noticeably softer draw than a dry glass pipe of the same size, and the water catches some of the loose ash on the way.
The colour is worked into the glass rather than painted on the outside, so it will not scratch off with use or cleaning.
This is the medium size. There is a small version if you want something more pocketable.
