Description
The Silver Palm Leaf is the original credit card pipe, the pocket pipe that started it all. Designed in Britain in 1993 – the same year Willy Banjo began – it’s flat stainless steel the size of a bank card, slim enough to sit in your wallet. This is the latest version, made in Britain by British precision engineers.
Milled inside the body is a 32cm channel. Smoke winds its way through before it reaches you, cooling as it goes and leaving residue in the channel. The backplate is held on by magnets and lifts off with a fingernail, so cleaning takes seconds.
It’s a design classic in the proper sense: exhibited at the Design Museum in 1994 and held in the permanent collection of the V&A.
We know the man behind it
We met Jamie, one of the pipe’s two designers, around 30 years ago on the festival circuit. We kept running into him at festivals and trade shows, ended up sharing stalls together in London, and we’re still good friends today. He’s one of the funniest men alive. It’s a real pleasure to have his pipe on our shelves.
