A plain black guillotine cutter that takes cigars up to a 20mm ring gauge. Single blade, straight cut, nothing else to it.
Ring gauge is the width of a cigar measured in 64ths of an inch. A cutter rated to 20mm will not close on a 60 ring gauge cigar, so match the cutter to what you actually smoke before anything else.
At £1.99 the sensible approach is to buy more than one. A cutter is the thing you always have in the wrong coat, and losing a £1.99 cutter costs you nothing.
Straight cuts suit most cigars and are the easiest to get right — take the cap off cleanly and leave the rest alone.
