Bong gauzes and pipe screens — the small metal or glass disc that sits in the bowl and stops bits being pulled through into the stem. Gauze, screen and mesh all mean the same thing; you’ll see all three used.
We stock brass and steel gauzes from Basil Bush in four sizes, Red Eye heavy duty steel pipe screens in 12.5mm and 16.5mm, drop-in cone gauzes in 15mm and 20mm for cone-shaped bowls, and reusable glass daisy screens if you’d rather not keep replacing them.
Which you need depends on the bowl. Flat screens suit most straight bowls, cone gauzes are made for tapered ones, and glass daisies wash out and go back in rather than being thrown away. If you’re unsure of the size, measure across the inside of the bowl.
