It comes completely apart, which is the thing that matters day to day. A pipe you can strip down is a pipe you will actually clean, and a clean pipe draws properly.
At £4.99 it is the obvious first pipe, and just as obvious as the spare you keep for when the good one is in the sink. Metal does add a slight metallic note when new — running a pipe cleaner through before first use helps.
